On Mac

Telos Note records the meeting audio playing on your Mac without adding a bot. Allow microphone and system-audio permissions when macOS asks. If a meeting app or device output changes, confirm the correct audio is playing through your Mac before recording.

On iPhone or iPad

Use the Record tab for in-person meetings and voice notes. Allow microphone and Speech Recognition access. Keep the device close enough to the speakers for clear audio.

Recording consent

Always follow local laws and workplace policies. Inform participants and obtain consent where required.

Mac meeting transcription

English transcription runs privately on the Mac using the model included with the app. A longer meeting can take time to process. You can return to Today or begin the next meeting; Telos Note continues processing and tells you when the transcript is ready.

iPhone and iPad transcription

iPhone and iPad use Apple Speech Recognition. Availability and accuracy vary by language, device, Apple settings and network or on-device support.

If processing needs attention

Use Retry when offered. Telos Note retains a recoverable local Mac recording when transcription has not completed safely. Do not discard it unless you no longer need the recording.

See upcoming meetings

Telos Note shows upcoming events from Apple Calendar after you allow calendar access. Add and enable the calendar accounts you use on each device so their meetings are available to view and prepare for in Telos Note.

Matching prep to a meeting

iCloud Sync carries your Telos prep and notes between devices, but it does not sync calendar accounts. For automatic matching, add and enable the same accounts in Apple Calendar on iPhone, iPad and Mac. You can also open an orphaned prep and attach it to the right meeting manually.

Last-time context

Use Last Time or Reference Another to bring a previous meeting’s useful context into the current prep. Opening the reference lets you review the source before the meeting.

Basic controls

Adjust speed, text size, width and brightness before you begin. On Mac, Space pauses or resumes; Up and Down move through the script; Left and Right slow down or speed up.

iPhone and iPad

On iPhone, use the teleprompter in portrait. On iPad, use portrait or landscape, choose a comfortable width and turn on Mirror when using reflective teleprompter glass. On iPad, supported external-keyboard controls keep your hands away from the screen.

Turn sync on

Open Telos Note Settings on each device and enable iCloud Sync. Confirm that every device uses the intended Apple ID, iCloud Drive is enabled and sufficient iCloud storage is available.

If a note has not appeared

Keep both devices online, reopen Telos Note and allow a moment for CloudKit to finish. Large attachments and the first sync can take longer. Telos Note does not require a separate account.

AI features are user-triggered

AI processing begins only when you deliberately start an AI-enabled workflow or select an AI action. Voice meeting prep is automatically structured after you end the voice-prep recording. Improve Note, summarise, translate, Ask Telos, Meeting Notes and follow-up email run only when you choose them. A network connection, valid entitlement and available allowance may be required.

Working with your library

Notes can include text, transcripts, actions, imported documents, PDFs, images and supported audio sources. Export formats vary by platform and content type; the export sheet shows the formats available for the current note.

Basic, Pro and Pro+

The Plan section in Settings explains the current feature level. Prices, billing periods and exact allowances appear in the app and Apple’s purchase sheet.

Restore Purchases

If paid status is missing, confirm the device is signed into the Apple account used for the purchase, then choose Restore Purchases. On Mac, quit and reopen the app after restoring if the status does not update immediately.

Upgrade to Pro+

Current Pro subscribers can choose the Pro+ option from the in-app Plan screen. Apple handles the subscription change and displays the billing details before confirmation.

No Telos account

Your library is local-first. Optional iCloud Sync uses your Apple ID. Read the Privacy Policy for the exact differences between Mac transcription, Apple Speech Recognition and the AI features you choose to run.

Delete or export

You can delete notes from the app and export supported content where available. Check exported content before sharing it because the destination app or service controls it once it leaves Telos Note.
